Safe and Supportive Detox
When you’ve decided to commit to recovery at Enlightened Solutions, the first treatment you’ll undergo is a medically supervised detox. Our team understands the process of recovery firsthand, as they’ve not only been present during multiple programs at Enlightened Solutions, but they’ve gone through their own personal recovery from drugs and alcohol. This process isn’t an easy one, and many are hesitant to go through detox because they’re afraid, but we do our best to make sure you’re as safe and comfortable as you can be. Detox will help you get through the first steps of recovery so you can cross the threshold into holistic treatments that will restore your body and your life.
Detox can take anywhere from seven to 14 days, depending on the substance. It’s important that you disclose all substances and frequency of use.
Detox Cleanses the Body of Drugs and Alcohol
Our medically supervised detox plans are vital, because they ensure your safety while we cleanse the body and mind of addictive substances. For those suffering from years of substance abuse, a medically supervised detox is the best choice because it can address the long-term effects the drugs or alcohol have had on your body and mind.
Withdrawal symptoms are an unavoidable side effect of detox, but the symptoms will vary in intensity depending on the level of drugs or alcohol present in your system. But detox isn’t just about the mental and physiological aspects; it’s also a cleansing ritual that helps to clear the way for recovery treatments to begin their work. At Enlightened Solutions our medical detox services are formulated to focus on the physical and mental aspects, but we also view detox as a symbol of the promise and commitment you’re making to yourself to stick to your goal of recovery.
Why is Detox Necessary for Drugs and Alcohol?
Substance addictions begin because of the pleasurable effects they have on someone, either physically, mentally, or both. Substances affect the brain in different ways, sending chemical signals to specific receptors that rewire thought processes and perception. Addiction causes a shift in how we prioritize things in our lives; finances, employment, and family responsibilities become completely overshadowed by the burning need for the addictive substance on which we’ve become dependent. Once our brain and body have become conditioned to its use, our chosen substance is the at the center of our thoughts, and is the driving purpose of our daily lives. Substance abuse causes a variety of adverse effects on the body, so when we decide to stop using drugs and alcohol, the body has to quickly adapt to the chemical change, and that can be shocking to our system.
Custom Medical Detox
Obviously, not all patients come into our recovery center with the same addiction, so we tailor our medical detox programs to each client. Many clients come to us with multiple addictions, so our program accounts for each and every one of them so we can make sure your detox is as complete as possible. Your substance of choice, the amount you’ve taken, and how long you’ve taken it will influence the process of our medical detox treatments.
